Maintenance

The Fabric Technology

Muddy Creek Rain Gear uses a micro porous coated nylon material that is waterproof, breathable and ultra lightweight.

It works as a system with millions of tiny pores (like your skin) which allows moisture vapour to pass through and out. The pores are too small to allow water droplets to come through its outer protective coating.

This makes Muddy Creek Rain Gear vastly more comfortable in warmer conditions than garments made from traditional fabrics like PVC, plastic or oilskin. You can be out in the rain and not feel as though you're in a sauna!

Washing and Drying

Wash your coat in the washing machine on a gentle cycle with a non phosphate detergent.

Hang up to drip dry - your gear will dry quickly, or if you are in a real hurry the coats are safe to use in a dryer.

Keeping It Water Proof

As with all waterproof and breathable fabrics, the outer protective coating needs to be replaced periodically to maintain the fabric's waterproof integrity.

We suggest that you do this approximately once per year, depending on your use.

This is done in 3 quick and easy steps:

  1. Gently machine wash your gear in a non phosphate detergent.

  2. Whilst still wet, treat with a Durable waterproof repellant (DWR) product.

  3. Drying can depend on the waterproofing product you use. ReviveX waterproofing products require a dryer to heat set the repellant.

We recommend the use of ReviveX waterproofing and washing products. Find them here.
