What do you get when you combine a delicious homemade afternoon tea, antique fine china, champagne and strawberries, music, glamorous attire, good conversation (horsey of course!), in a lovely garden setting and all in aid of a horse rescue charity?? Well, a ‘High Tea for Horses' of course!
Muddy Creek Rain Gear recently hosted a ‘High Tea For Horses’ in the lovely relaxed gardens and home of Beach Holidays With Your Horse, ‘Sea Horse’ of Diamond Beach. 25 gorgeous ladies, dressed ‘to the nines’ came together to enjoy the winter sunshine and good company to raise much needed funds for the wonderful work of Horse Welfare Inc of Glen Oak NSW.
Kristie Moy of Hallidays Point was awarded the ‘Most Glamorous Award’ of the afternoon, whilst other guests shared in the lucky door and raffle prizes generously donated by local businesses.
Candice Wilkinson from Double C Saddlery and award winning artist Louise Green had displays of their stock and artworks during the afternoon; Carole Isaacs spoke about the upcoming Manning Valley Horse Health Expo to be held in Wingham in November and representatives of Horse Welfare Inc spoke with guests about their horse rescue work and support needs.
A highlight of the afternoon was the impromptu fashion parade of Muddy Creek Rain Gear coats and wet weather clothing, ably supported by our ‘Muddy Creek Man’ Chris Denton looking fabulous in his tuxedo.
A successful afternoon saw over Horse Welfare Inc receive a donation of over $400 and place 4 of their rescue horses into ‘forever homes’.
